This movie is
based from the manga of the same title by Ai Yazawa.
Nana Osaki and
Nana Komatsu have the same birthday, same age, same name but have
different personalities. They met on a train bound to Tokyo, not
realizing it's fate and they will build a friendship that will last a
lifetime.
Nana O moved to
Tokyo with her band Blackstones (aka Blast) and determined to defeat
her ex-boyfriend's band Trapnest. Ren Honjo (ex-boyfriend) used to be
the bassist for Blackstones, he and Nana O grew up in the same town,
shared the same friends but he left to join a famous alternative band
Trapnest. Nana K (Hachi) moved to Tokyo to reunite with her hometown
boyfriend Shoji only to find out that he cheated on her. She will end
up sharing an apartment with Nana O instead.
REVIEW
The live-action
version of Nana was justified. The casting for every character is
perfect except for Reira (Yuna Ito) which I felt it should've been
Olivia (Lufkin) inspire' Reira vocalist for the soundtrack. Other
than that I have no complains about the movie and was very satisfied.
You will fall in love with the movie, the characters and specially
the original soundtrack. Mika Nakashima sang “Glamorous Sky”
which catapulted her singing career. Yuna Ito's single “Endless
Story” (Trapnest song) ranked second on the Oricon charts which
established her singing career as well.
